8th Annual Caregiver Wellness Retreat

  • Thursday, June 20, 2019, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Join us for a relaxing day with separate activities for caregivers and their care receivers.

Caregivers who provide care to a frail or needy loved one tend to live with high chronic stress and skimp on self-care — factors that raise the risk for many illnesses. And this undermines the ability to continue providing good-quality care! Without respite, caregivers are susceptible to burnout, symptoms of which are: exhaustion, frustration, impatience, and having trouble coping with the day-to-day demands of caregiving.

Getting respite before you experience burnout is the key to taking care of you.

Activities include crafts, gentle exercise, music, massage, and more! Event concludes with a campfire, sing-a-long and

S'mores and (hopefully) happier CG!

This co-partnered program between Cornell Cooperative Extension and Office for the Aging of Sullivan County

is supported by a grant from the NYS Office for the Aging’s Caregiver Program and a grant from the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley NY Chapter.
